4-NATION SONGWRITING PROJECT

Throughout September and October, Together with Music (TwM) will be embarking on a UK wide song-writing tour to support reconnection and amplify the voices of people from all generations and walks of life. TwM will be delivering 2-day workshops in locations across the UK, celebrating people, diversity, inclusion and connection.

We will be linking in with care homes, sheltered accommodation, hospitals, choirs, schools, orchestras, youth groups and members of the community, encouraging and supporting people in taking steps towards music and reconnection.

What it involves...

On Day 1

Fun and practical training for young people, care staff and musicians. The workshop will equip those with a deeper understanding of the place music has without health and wellbeing, encouraging participants to build their own intergenerational 'music toolbox.’

On Day 2

Creative Intergenerational sessions. We want to use the power of music and song-writing as a vehicle into the sharing of stories, culture and heritage, providing agency to feelings surrounding the pandemic and building strong connections and mutual respect and understanding between group members.
